Last week I mentioned that I had some exciting news to share. Today I can finally reveal it.
I'm proud to announce that I'll be joining the SCODY Ambassador Team for the 2026/27 triathlon season.
For me, there's a little more to this announcement than simply putting on a new tri suit or adding another logo. There's actually a nice bit of history behind it.
Where It Started
When I returned to triathlon racing in the 2023/24 season after quite a few years away from the sport, I needed to effectively start again.
New equipment, new training routines and, after so much time away, plenty to relearn about racing.
When it came time to choose a tri suit, I chose SCODY.
The photo accompanying this blog is from that first season back — racing in the SCODY suit I bought for my return to the sport, on my way to winning my age group at the Raby Bay Triathlon.
At the time, there was no sponsorship or ambassador relationship. I was simply a customer who chose a product that I wanted to race in.
Three seasons later, that makes becoming an official SCODY Ambassador feel particularly special.
Representing a Brisbane Brand
Another part of the partnership that really appeals to me is that SCODY is a Brisbane-based Australian company.
I do the vast majority of my training and racing here in Queensland, so having the opportunity to represent a local brand feels like a natural fit.
Throughout the coming season, I'll be training and racing in SCODY gear and sharing my experiences along the way.
And as always, what I share through Trindall Tri Fit will be based on my actual experience. There will be plenty of kilometres in the pool, on the bike and on the run to put the gear through its paces.
Quite a Journey Back
Looking at that photo from the 2023/24 season also reminds me just how much has happened since returning to triathlon.
What initially began as simply getting back into a sport I'd loved for most of my life has developed into something much bigger.
Over the past couple of seasons, I've rebuilt my fitness, returned to regular competition, won the Queensland Triathlon Series age-group title and earned selection to represent Australia as part of the Australian Age Group Team.
There have been some significant setbacks along the way as well.
Ironman Cairns certainly didn't go to plan, with injury bringing my race to an early end. But setbacks are part of endurance sport, particularly when you're trying to continue competing and improving as you get older.
The focus since Cairns has been on recovering properly, rebuilding and getting myself ready to race again.
The 2026/27 Season Starts Here
My first race officially representing SCODY will be Round 1 of the Queensland Triathlon Series at Clontarf on 27 September.
That begins another full season of racing and a progression towards my major target for the season — the Gold Coast T100 in March 2027.
There's plenty of work between now and then, and that's exactly what I'm looking forward to.
I'll be sharing the training, racing, successes, setbacks and lessons throughout the season here on Trindall Tri Fit, along with the SCODY equipment I'll be using along the way.
Back in SCODY — This Time Officially
There's something satisfying about looking back at that first SCODY tri suit from my return to racing and knowing where the journey has taken me.
From buying a SCODY suit as an athlete returning to triathlon in 2023/24 to officially representing the company three seasons later.
I'm very grateful to the team at SCODY for the opportunity and for welcoming me to their Ambassador Team.
I'm looking forward to representing the brand throughout the 2026/27 season.
It feels good to be back in SCODY — this time officially. 🇦🇺
